United States Representative Brandon Gill won reelection in Texas' 26th Congressional District.
With 92.58% of the vote counted, Gill (R-Texas) garnered 178,641 votes in Tuesday's election, defeating Democrat challenger Steven Shook, who won 143,549 votes, according to the Associated Press.
Gill, who was first elected in 2024, is set to begin his second term representing the North Texas district.
The congressman ran on the endorsement of President Donald Trump, who stated that he "is doing a tremendous job advancing our AMERICA FIRST Agenda" in Congress.
Gill's platform centered on immigration and opposing open-border policies, the economy and affordability, energy independence, the Second Amendment, standing up for Israel, protecting children from gender transition surgeries, fighting cultural Marxism in schools, and protecting the unborn, according to his campaign website.
Trump labeled his competitor a "Radical Left Dumocrat" and accused him of opposing "NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY."
Congressman Brandon Gill is a “MAGA” Warrior for the wonderful people of Texas’ 26th Congressional District! I have known Brandon’s family for many years. He has an incredible wife, Danielle, two beautiful children, and a truly great father-in-law, Dinesh D’Souza.
