‘The More You Threaten Her’: Man Allegedly Recruited Guy On Reddit To Sexually Assault His Fiancee, Police Say

An Arizona man allegedly recruited a stranger on Reddit to sexually assault his fiancée inside their home while she cared for her two young children.

Buckeye Police Department (BPD) arrested Zarian Dyer, 23, on Oct. 29, according to the department. Investigators determined he had plotted the attack with Adrian Ayala, 20. The two men met online, BPD said.

Detectives seized phones from both men and uncovered messages showing they had coordinated the assault, according to police. The motive behind the plot remains unclear, the department said. (RELATED: 'Training Day' Actress Accused Of Spreading Human Remains, Assaulting Deputy)

Court records obtained by 12News captured Reddit messages from the day of the attack. Ayala's account asked whether the woman was "in on" the plan. The other user replied, "Nope."

Ayala wrote that he wanted to "back out" and felt "not comfortable if she not into it." The other account pushed back, answering, "the more you threaten her the more she'll get into it…"

The same account told Ayala to "get here faster" while it tried to "fake kill time" at a nearby store. Store cameras later showed Dyer walking through a grocery store around 5:30 p.m. and leaving without buying anything, according to the records.

The attack happened around 6 p.m. on Oct. 16 at the couple's home in Buckeye, a suburb west of Phoenix, according to BPD. The woman told officers a "random man" came to her door, asked to use the bathroom and then forced his way inside, according to an arrest report reviewed by KTAR.

She fought him off and escaped outside, according to the report. Surveillance video caught him telling her that her fiancé said she would "be into this," the report stated.

Ayala slipped away before officers arrived. Police arrested him the next day at his home, BPD stated. He first told his father a YouTuber had paid him to "reenact" an attack, according to the arrest report cited by KTAR. He later confessed to arranging the assault with Dyer.

Dyer rejected any role and called the messages "disgusting," according to court records reported by 12News. He denied setting up the attack, the records stated. He kept his head down and dodged questions during the interview, according to court documents cited by AZFamily.

Dyer faces counts of aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and conspiracy, according to BPD. His bond stands at $500,000, according to 12News. Ayala left jail on a $25,000 bond, KTAR reported.
