President Donald Trump touted his administration's investment of $250 million toward hiring nurses for nursing and assisted living homes across the country while continuing his midterm campaign tour with a stop in Fort Myers, Florida.

"I'm pleased to announce that the Trump administration is investing $250 million to hire at least $5,000 new nurses in elder care facilities all across America," Trump stated on Friday, adding that the hiring push would be particularly focused in Florida.

This announcement comes after the president announced an $8 billion financial aid package for American farmers during a campaign rally in Kansas earlier this week to offset high diesel prices.

A White House fact sheet released Friday touted that the administration put "real money back in the pockets" of Florida's seniors through Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts. About 4.8 million seniors in the Sunshine State alone benefit from the no-tax-on-Social Security provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) Act, the White House reported, with the average senior expected to pay zero federal taxes on Social Security benefits.

Trump visited the state to stump for U.S. Senator Ashley Moody (R-Fla.), urging the Sunshine State not to send a "Marxist maniac" like Florida State Representative Angie Nixon to the Senate.

"Nixon is a card-carrying member of the Dumocrat Socialists of America," he said, explaining that the group's official platform "calls for abolishing the U.S. Senate, abolishing the Supreme Court of the United States, giving free health care to all illegal aliens, defunding the police, closing all prisons, releasing thousands of violent criminals to rob, rape and kill."

"Why can't I have a candidate like that to run against?" Trump remarked, suggesting a candidate with such a platform would be easily beaten. He added that an audience member said, "You did!"

He also promoted Representative Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) for the governorship, saying he endorsed him "at the strongest and highest level", railing against his Democrat opponent, former U.S. Representative David Jolly.

"David Jolly is a vicious anti-gun radical, who wants to take away your firearms. He has an 'F' rating from the NRA — I've never even heard of an 'F' rating," Trump remarked, noting that Donalds was a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.

Invited up to the podium, Donalds declared that on November 3rd, Floridians "are going to tell the Democrats one more time that they will not have power in Florida."

"President Trump and Republicans are delivering lower taxes, major private investment, stronger rural healthcare, critical infrastructure, expanded veteran support, and safer communities," the White House stated. "Floridians face a clear choice: continue this progress or return to higher taxes, open borders, and the failed policies of the past."
