Republican Congressman Max Miller has lost Ohio's 7th District to Democrat Brian Poindexter, after the Daily Mail exposed abuse allegations that left the two-term congressman isolated inside his own party.
Miller lost with 45.7 percent to Poindexter's 54.6 percent with 88 percent of the vote counted, according to the Associated Press.
Trump carried the district by about 11 points during the 2024 presidential election.
In May, the Daily Mail broke the story of Miller's ex-wife, Emily Moreno, accusing him in court filings of scalding her with hot water, holding a gun to her head and hitting her.
Moreno also accused Miller of fracturing their two-year-old daughter's collarbone. He has not been charged and denies all the allegations.
Her father, Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno, said in August that Miller should not serve in the House. Moreno said Miller 'needs serious psychological help.'
Former Trump White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, who dated Miller in 2019 and 2020, has also accused him of abuse and sued him in July.
Miller denied every allegation, sued both women for defamation and asked the House Ethics Committee to investigate him.

Once it was clear Miller would stay in, members of Trump's political team urged Ohio Republicans not to wage a public pressure campaign against him.
Poindexter, 47, is a union ironworker and a former Brook Park city councilman.
Miller ran ads accusing Poindexter of possessing crack cocaine and of being arrested for slapping a man at a baseball game. Poindexter says he has been open about his record.
Miller, a former Trump aide, was first elected in 2022 and won Trump's endorsement in May.
A Republican firm's survey in early August had Poindexter ahead 47 percent to 33 percent, with Miller's support among Republicans below 70 percent.
