JUST IN: Former UK Ambassador to the U.S. ARRESTED Over Epstein Ties

JUST IN: Former UK Ambassador to the U.S. ARRESTED Over Epstein Ties

The dominoes are beginning to fall…

Just a few days after Prince Andrew’s arrest, another prominent British figure has been taken into custody over his alleged relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

This time, it’s Peter Mandelson — the ex-ambassador to the United States for the United Kingdom.

Watch the moment he was arrested by a plainclothes officer in London here:

BREAKING: Former UK ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson has been arrested over his alleged relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the newly released Epstein files, Mandelson was passing confidential government memos to Epstein.

“Officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was arrested at an address in Camden on Monday, 23 February and has been taken to a London police station for interview,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Mandelson was frequently mentioned in the Epstein files.

Here’s just one example of his email correspondence with Epstein:

Like (former) Prince Andrew, Mandelson was arrested on “suspicion of misconduct in public office.”

From The New York Times:

London’s Metropolitan Police, which began an investigation into Mr. Mandelson earlier this month, said in a statement, “Officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office.”

The statement added that the man had been taken to a police station in London to be formally interviewed.

The police did not name Mr. Mandelson, in line with British rules that ban them from identifying suspects before any charges are brought. But footage broadcast by the BBC showed Mr. Mandelson being led from his home into an unmarked police car by plainclothes police officers and driven away, at around 4:30 p.m. local time. Mr. Mandelson was not handcuffed and was carrying a bottle of water.

The arrest is the latest dramatic development in Britain to follow the U.S. Justice Department’s release of files related to Mr. Epstein, and marks a new low for Mr. Mandelson, a veteran Labour Party strategist and one of Britain’s best known political figures.

It comes just days after the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince, on suspicion of the same offense — misconduct in public office, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Specifically, police are investigating claims that Mandelson shared sensitive government information with Jeffrey Epstein.

At this time, he is not being accused of any sexual crimes.

Notably, Mandelson has been a controversial figure in Britain for many years.

Earlier this month, current British Prime Minister Keir Starmer came under fire for hiring him in the first place.

AP News has more details:

Mandelson served in senior government roles under previous Labour governments and was U.K. ambassador to Washington until Prime Minister Keir Starmer fired him in September after emails were published showing that he maintained a friendship with Epstein after the financier’s 2008 conviction for sex offenses involving a minor.

The files released in January contained more explosive revelations about Mandelson’s ties to Epstein, whom he once called “my best pal.”

Messages suggest that Mandelson passed on sensitive — and potentially market-moving — government information to Epstein in 2009, when Mandelson was a senior minister in the British government. That includes an internal government report discussing ways the U.K. could raise money after the 2008 global financial crisis, including by selling off government assets. Mandelson also appears to have told Epstein he would lobby other members of the government to reduce a tax on bankers’ bonuses.

British police launched a criminal probe earlier this month and searched Mandelson’s two houses in London and western England.

The decision to appoint Mandelson nearly cost Starmer his job earlier this month, as questions swirled around his judgment about someone who has flirted with controversy during a decades-long political career.

Though he acknowledged he made a mistake and apologized to victims of Epstein, Starmer’s position remains precarious. His future may rest on the release of files connected to Mandelson’s appointment. The government has pledged to begin releasing those documents in early March, though the timeline may be complicated by his arrest.

Now, PM Starmer’s future is once again in peril related to Mandelson, and by extension, Epstein.

A former advisor to Margaret Thatcher believes that Mandelson’s arrest could end up taking down Starmer, too.

Watch this:

Wow.

The house of cards is really beginning to crumble…

Let’s start seeing some arrests here in the U.S. soon, as well!
