This is the last thing you want to happen at a gun range.
Director Michael Mann accidentally shot himself at a gun range in Los Angeles.
Mann, who was the director of the iconic film Heat, was rushed to the hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.
People had the full scoop on the accident and revealed Mann's current condition:
Michael Mann was injured after he accidentally shot himself at a Los Angeles gun range.
The 83-year-old director — who helmed films including Miami Vice, Heat, Collateral, Thief and more — accidentally shot himself in the leg around 4 p.m. local time on Saturday, Oct. 31, according to a representative for Mann and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
"On Saturday, at a gun range, a weapon accidentally discharged while holstered, resulting in a superficial injury to film director Michael Mann. He was treated and is being released," Mann's spokesperson tells PEOPLE.
The LAPD, without providing an identity, adds in its own statement to PEOPLE, "Yesterday at around 4 p.m., officers responded to the 11000 block of Missouri Avenue for a radio call for shots fired at that location. Responding units' investigation determined the shooting to be accidental. The subject was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. An injury report was completed."
TMZ, citing a source, said the incident took place at The Range LA. The outlet was first to report the news.
The LAPD confirmed to TMZ that police and the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the scene of the shooting incident.

Mann isn't the only Hollywood star to shoot himself in recent years.
NBC News reported Actor Peter Greene also shot himself, but unlike Mann, his accident was fatal:
Actor Peter Greene, who specialized in playing villains like the sadistic security guard Zed in "Pulp Fiction," died after he accidentally shot himself in the armpit, the New York City medical examiner said Wednesday.
The determination was released two months after Greene, 60, was found dead Dec. 12 in his apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
"Cause of death: Gunshot wound of left axilla with injury of brachial artery," it said. The death was determined to be an accident.
The ME's office did not provide any other details.
Greene carved out a career playing foul fiends, including Dorian in the Jim Carrey movie "The Mask," which, like "Pulp Fiction," also came out in 1994.
