Dem Senator Mocks Abdul El-Sayed’s Chronic Case Of ‘Little Man Syndrome’

Dem Senator Mocks Abdul El-Sayed’s Chronic Case Of ‘Little Man Syndrome’

Days before Michigan's closely-watched U.S. Senate contest, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) offered a blunt assessment of Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed and his chronic case of "little man syndrome."

While speaking with Jewish Insider, Fetterman discussed El-Sayed's ongoing feud with U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), whom he defeated in a tightly-contested primary earlier this year. Stevens' fiancé has stated that he will not be backing El-Sayed, while Stevens herself has condemned El-Sayed over what many have described as affiliations with Islamist and/or antisemitic groups.

"Rep. Haley Stevens simply held Abdul El-Sayed accountable for his views on Israel and fixation with Jewish money. El-Sayed is going after a woman and banning her from campaign events for having an opinion. El-Sayed's overreaction demonstrates why he struggles with groups of Michigan voters," Fetterman told the outlet. "He has the worst case of little man syndrome I've ever seen."

Fetterman, who stands roughly 6 feet 8 inches, has previously described El-Sayed as displaying "little man syndrome energy" after the Michigan Democrat called him an "ogre" who belonged "on a pike" and referred to him in other disparaging terms during the primary.

El-Sayed has repeatedly made bizarre comments in which he expresses desire to challenge political opponents to physical contests, oftentimes with references to high school athletics. "If you're coming to kick down what we're building, I'll fight you. Like, I'm not afraid. So I was also the kid in AP classes getting suspended for fighting," he said in a recent interview with The Bulwark.

He has extended similar invitations to elected officials. After Vice President JD Vance mocked his "patchy beard" in a TikTok, El-Sayed questioned whether Vance's beard was real, accused him of being "juiced up on TRT," and challenged him to a weight-room contest. "If he thinks that my beard is somehow indicative of my strength, I'm happy to invite him to any weight room in any place. We could do it in D.C., and let's see. I'd love to see him on a bench. I'd love to see him on a squat," El-Sayed ranted.

El-Sayed has also challenged Republican opponent Mike Rogers to a "tackle, no pads" football game and has made pointed comments about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's athletic background, suggesting Hegseth "would have rode the pine" and that supportive parents had inflated his self-image.
