CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten said on Thursday that Americans favor Republicans’ approach to immigration enforcement over Democrats at this point in President Donald Trump’s term.

Ahead of the midterm elections, Democrats have attempted to accuse the Trump administration of cruelty and unlawfulness as they continued ramping up their deportation efforts throughout the U.S. However, Republicans hold a five-point lead on the question of who Americans’ trust more on immigration, which is a major switch from Democrats’ six-point edge in 2018, Enten said.

Republican Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt suggested he does not think Democrats are supporting lax border security policies for the goal of getting illegal immigrants to vote for the party.

The governor, who is known to have a tenuous relationship with President Donald Trump, said that in his view, Democrats’ intentions are not to make foreign nationals part of the country’s voter rolls, in an interview with NPR that aired Thursday. The Oklahoma Republican’s colleagues come as the Senate is considering the Trump-backed SAVE America Act, which would, in part, require proof of citizenship for voter registration, amid fierce opposition from Democratic lawmakers. What does real American patriotism sound like? 

You probably heard it in President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. 

Two members of Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s administration testified that some rioters used the fact that they were exposed to tear gas at demonstrations to qualify for Paid Family and Medical Leave funded by the state’s taxpayers.

Fox News chief political analyst Brit Hume said Wednesday that President Donald Trump slightly misstated Iran’s long-standing public position on nuclear weapons.

Trump delivered his State of the Union address Tuesday, outlining his administration’s national security, economic and foreign policy priorities. Hume addressed the matter on “Special Report with Bret Baier” as U.S. envoys prepared for talks in Geneva.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Wednesday laid out what he called a path forward for Republicans as it pertains to stalled Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding.

The Senate voted 52–47 to advance a House-passed full-year DHS funding bill but fell short of the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster after Democrats withheld support over immigration enforcement demands. Appearing on “Kudlow,” Thune said Democrats are blocking the broader DHS measure, effectively freezing resources for disaster response, airport security, coastal defense and cyber protection.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris suggested that the SAVE America Act is bad because it would require people to present basic documents to register to vote — which she claimed 40% of Americans do not have.

Flyers advertising a conservative speaking event at Gettysburg College were hijacked and altered to show incorrect information intended to “purposefully deceiv[e]” students and prevent them from attending.

The flyers posted by the school’s Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chapter to draw attention to an upcoming speech by North Korean defector Yeonmi Park were replicated and reposted on campus with an incorrect date, time, and location, the chapter has informed the Daily Caller News Foundation. The QR code on the original flyer directed prospective attendees to ticket information for the talk. In the fake flyers that code was replaced with one leading to radical trans organization The Trevor Project, a proponent of medical gender transition for minors.

Federal prosecutors have charged a New Hampshire man with attempted murder after authorities say he opened fire on a U.S. Border Patrol agent near the Canadian border.

Blu Zeke Daly, also known as Cullan Zeke Daly, 26, of Manchester, faces one count of attempted murder of a federal officer and one count of assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon, according to a press release from the Department of Justice (DOJ). Daly remains hospitalized in New Hampshire and is under guard.
