A London jury convicted comedian and actor Russell Brand of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault on Thursday, following a nearly four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court.
The 51-year-old podcaster was found guilty of raping a 21-year-old fan after meeting her at a 2009 stand-up show at the Hammersmith Apollo, as well as sexually assaulting three other women between 2004 and 2009.
Brand was acquitted of two additional rape charges and one count of attempted indecent assault.
Judge Joel Bennathan told Brand that a sentence of "significant length" would result and ordered him remanded into custody pending sentencing on Monday, November 9.

The Metropolitan Police said the investigation began after Channel 4's Dispatches and The Times published allegations in September 2023.
Detectives gathered evidence from more than 100 witnesses, took more than 400 statements, and reviewed thousands of documents, including Brand's own books.
Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said in a statement after sentencing:
"Today's verdict is first and foremost a testament to the extraordinary courage, resilience and determination of the women who came forward and reported what happened to them. Despite intense media and public scrutiny, they relived deeply personal and traumatic experiences and placed their trust in us. Without their bravery, this outcome would not have been possible.
"Brand used his influence, status and fame to exploit and sexually offend against women. As his profile grew, so too did his sense of entitlement. I hope this conviction sends a clear message that no one is above the law, no matter how famous or powerful they may be.
"I want to pay tribute to the team of detectives and specialist staff who worked tirelessly on this investigation. Their professionalism, determination and compassion for the victims represent the very best of the Metropolitan Police.
"Finally, I would urge anyone who may have been a victim of rape or serious sexual assault to speak to us. You will be listened to, supported and treated with dignity and respect."
Prosecutors had described him as a "ruthless sexual predator."
Brand, Katy Perry's former husband and a once-prominent actor, denied all the charges.
Brand maintained that the encounters were consensual or that the accounts had been reinvented or reimagined, and he claimed during the trial that he was the target of a media conspiracy.
The jury deliberated for roughly eight and a half hours before returning its verdicts.
Brand closed his eyes as the rape conviction was announced.
Brand's wife, Laura Gallacher, was present in court.
Police are still investigating Brand in connection with additional rape claims made by two other women, including one who claims she was victimized by Brand when she was 16 years old.
