‘American Idol’ Contestant Caleb Flynn Suspected In Wife’s Murder After Telling 911 Dispatchers Someone Shot Her

Frantic 911 audio seemed to capture “American Idol” alum Caleb Flynn in hysterics, claiming he found his wife shot in the head. But he was ultimately charged for murder.

Official records indicate Tipp City Police Department arrested Flynn and booked him into the county jail for murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence Thursday, according to TMZ. Law enforcement officials told the outlet they believe Flynn used a 9mm semiautomatic handgun to shoot Ashley, his 37-year-old wife, then staged the crime scene.

“Oh my God somebody broke into my home – somebody broke into my home and shot my wife,” Flynn appeared to say in the 911 audio shared by TMZ.

“Please, please hurry. Please, please hurry,” he said, before telling the dispatcher, “My wife, she’s got two shots to her head – there’s blood everywhere – oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.”

In the audio, Flynn claimed someone forced their way into his Ohio home and shot his wife.

“The door to the garage is wide open. Please hurry, please,” he seemed to say in the clip.

“My God, oh my God oh my God – my daughters are here,” he said, before clarifying he was in a bedroom with his wife while his daughters slept in their room.

“They’re not even awake,” he told the dispatcher, referring to his children.

The emotional call continued with Flynn seeming panicked by the bloody scene.

“I rubbed her leg and said her name – she’s not answering,” he told the dispatcher. “Her face is white as a ghost.” (RELATED: ‘NYPD Blue’ Star Kim Delaney Reportedly Gives Wildly Self-Absorbed Excuse For Leaving Crash Scene)

Dispatch audio obtained from the scene appeared to indicate Ashley was non-responsive upon the arrival of first responders.

Flynn auditioned for “American Idol” season 12 in 2013, but didn’t advance. He professed his love for music – and his wife – in his interview.
