Republican incumbent Kelly Ayotte has won her second term as New Hampshire's governor, defeating Democrat challenger Cinde Warmington.

With 88% of the total vote counted on Tuesday, Ayotte (R-N.H.) garnered 302,583 votes or 51%, triumphing over Warmington's (D-N.H.) 279,219 votes or 47%, according to the Associated Press.

Ayotte, who was first elected as the Granite State's governor in 2024, previously served as a United States senator from New Hampshire and as the state's attorney general.

According to her campaign website, Ayotte's platform highlighted her accomplishments while in office, including fixing the bail system, obtaining "landmark" healthcare funding, keeping cell phones out of classrooms, delivering "historic" educational funding, protecting vulnerable populations and signing laws to speed up housing construction.

She also ran on implementing no new taxes, backing first responders, lowering electric bills and protecting the state's outdoors.

Warmington is a former member of the New Hampshire Executive Council, an executive body that advises the governor and conducts financial oversight. She ran on implementing a temporary moratorium on data centers until safeguards can be codified, temporarily suspending the state gas tax amid high costs — which she attributes to the conflict with Iran, legalizing cannabis, ending the school voucher system, and expanding and bringing down housing costs in the state.

To tackle the state's housing shortages, she specifically advocated for banning private equity firms from buying up single-family homes, appointing a "housing czar" to focus on the housing crisis, and expediting permitting processes that delay housing development.

Her platform also focused on fighting against many policies of President Donald Trump, criticizing Ayotte for not suing to block Trump's tariffs and not preventing the loss of millions of public health funding, per her site.
