An Oklahoma woman woke up in the middle of the night and shot her husband dead after claiming he had hit her repeatedly that previous evening, according to prosecutors.
Salomi Derena Ochsner, 63, called law enforcement on Friday morning and claimed she had killed her husband, Jeff Ochsner, according to an affidavit obtained by the Lawton Constitution.
Ochsner alleged Jeff, also 63, returned to their rural Chattanooga home from hunting and repeatedly struck her in the head, per the reported affidavit.
She told investigators that she thought Jeff was going to kill her.
The couple went to bed but Ochsner woke up and proceeded to repeatedly shoot her husband, according to the affidavit.
Jeff's body was found around 7am by law enforcement.
Ochsner was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
She was booked into Tillman County Jail, where she is currently being held on $200,000 bond.

Ochsner made her initial court appearance on Tuesday at 1.30pm, according to Oklahoma court records viewed by the Daily Mail.
She is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing conference on January 19, 2027.
Tillman County Associate District Judge Brad L Benson has been assigned to her case.
The Tillman County Sheriff's office and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the death.
Ochsner frequently posted smiling pictures with her husband on her Facebook profile, uploading shots of the two from a trip to Round Rock, Texas, in June.
She would also post photos of the couple's two adult children, Colton and Jake, while writing about her 'beautiful family.'
Other online posts also painted a rosy picture of the couple. As recently as September 5, a dealership in Shawnee showed the couple together on Facebook after they bought a 2026 Jeep Wrangler Sahara.
The couple lived in the township of Chattanooga near the Comanche, Cotton and Tillman County lines.

Still, Oklahoma court records viewed by the Daily Mail suggested previous tension between the Ochsners.
On March 10, 2005, Ochsner filed for divorce from her husband in Tillman court.
The court docket said that temporary restraining orders had been filed that March 21, though details were not available.
On the same day, a child support computation was also filed for their two children.
However, the divorce case ended up being dismissed on December 7. The docket did not provide a reason.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Clay Zelbst and John P Zelbst, who are listed in court records as Ochsner's attorneys, as well as prosecution attorneys Daniel Jacobsma and Deanna Hansell for comment.
