According to the Prince William County Police Department, 27-year-old Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano has been charged with felony destruction of property, trespass with intent to damage property, and felony injury to a monument.
Officers were called to the statue near Richmond Highway and Fuller Road just before 10:15 p.m. on [Wednesday]. When they arrived, they found Maldonado Soriano using a sledgehammer to damage the monument.
Maldonado Soriano was taken into custody, but not before police say he did hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, including removing one of the soldier's heads.
