Hasbro announces one-year apology tour for killing Optimus Prime in 1986 Transformers movie

It's about time Hasbro acknowledged the trauma that was The Transformers: The Movie.

They've announced that for the 40th anniversary of the movie, they'll be doing a one-year apology tour.

You might be wondering why Hasbro would apologize for making this movie about Transformers and not for all of the Michael Bay movies.

It's because every '80s kid was horribly traumatized when Megatron killed Optimus Prime in the movie.

Here's Hasbro explaining their penitence:

A year-long celebration, I mean, moment of healing for making you cry at the movies forty years ago.

Relive the heartache at fan screenings. Dance the pain away with totally awesome music. Commiserate together at events all year long. And it wouldn't be complete without totally-rad-please-forgive-us-for-killing-Optimus-and-crushing-your-childhood figures and merch.

Fans weren't having it.

Here's my favorite though:
