Republican Texas Rep. Brandon Gill said Thursday that Congress and federal law enforcement will wage a “two-front fight” against organizations that fund Antifa.
FBI Director Kash Patel said on “The Dan Bongino Show” that the FBI has uncovered significant funding streams tied to Antifa and is conducting a financial probe that could lead to new enforcement actions targeting those backing the group. Gill said on “The Evening Edit” that lawmakers plan to hold hearings to investigate whether nonprofit organizations are using tax-free status to funnel money into political violence linked to Antifa.
“Will you guys basically point out George Soros’ groups?” host Elizabeth MacDonald asked. “There’s a bunch of that big network that is funding these Antifa riots. Will you name names, try to call them in, and do you think that the Justice Department, and rather the Treasury Department with the IRS, will they audit these groups and revoke their tax free status?”

“Yes, absolutely,” Gill said.
“That is the goal here. The goal is if these organizations are getting tax-free benefits and they are engaged in political activity illegally, that status needs to be revoked. And we need to do that in a very clear and public way. The purpose of these hearings is to get the information so that we can make that determination. But secondly, I think that if you have these organizations that are funding illegal activity in the United States, people need to go to jail for that.”
Gill said the strategy is targeting both unlawful political coordination and direct financial support for criminal conduct. (RELATED: Brandon Gill Shares Which Of Jasmine Crockett’s Tactics In TX Senate Run Not A ‘Compelling Election Strategy’)
“That is a much broader criminal conspiracy that needs to be dealt with. So I do think this is a two-front fight for us,” Gill added. “It is going after organizations that are engaged in illegal political activity, but also going after organizations that are funding illegal activity in general, these riots, and those people need to be held accountable as well.”
The Headwaters Foundation for Justice awarded more than $3.3 million to activist groups involved in organizing anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests in Minneapolis. The grant records show funds flowing to organizations that participated in anti-ICE protests.
The Open Society Foundations, founded by George Soros, also distributed tens of millions of dollars to progressive groups that have supported activist causes across the country. The record shows grant data connecting major donor funding to organizations that have backed protest activity in multiple states, including a $2 million contribution from the Open Society Foundations to the Sunrise Movement, which promoted the Stop Cop City/Defend the Atlanta Forest coalition linked to Antifa-associated anarchist extremism.
