Two young Chicago dancers have been killed and three others injured following a fatal freeway collision on their way home from practice.

Teammates Boaz Flemister, 17, and Lazarus Gonzales, 25, were killed early Thursday morning in the rollover crash.

Two other passengers remain hospitalized, while the third was released with minor injuries.

The victims were all members of Chicago’s award-winning dance team, Empiire Dance Institution, and were driving home just after 1am following practice, CBS Chicago reported.

The crash unfolded on the Bishop Ford Freeway at the I-94 northbound ramp near 111th Street.

It remains unclear what caused the crash and the Illinois State Police said the investigation is ongoing.

One of the hospitalized victims, an adult woman, is in critical condition.

Another victim, whose name and gender were not disclosed, is recovering from two broken legs.

Boaz’s mother, Angelo Hongo, told ABC7 that her 17-year-old was a junior at Art in Motion Art School, located in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.

The junior was described as a 'number one dancer' and a 'top grand champion,' his mom telling the outlet, 'Bo, he could be the life of any party.

'He was. He just liked to have fun. For his life to be cut short over something like this, it is not imaginable.

'Until I put my eyes on him, it really won't set in, so I am really calm and reserved right now,' she said.

Lazarus, known as Hollywood, was celebrated as a choreographer, dancer, and rapper.

The dancers left a lasting impact on the dance community and their company honored the two students who passed in a heartfelt Instagram tribute.

'Ultimate Threat Dance Corp sends our deepest condolences as we honor the lives of Hollywood and Bo,' they wrote.

'Hollywood was an incredible choreographer, dancer, and rapper. His creativity was unmatched, and his energy was contagious.

'He had a gift for uplifting everyone around him and pushing others to be greater. His light will never dim.

'Bo was a phenomenal hip hop dancer and footworker. He didn’t say much, but when he stepped on the floor, his moves spoke volumes. Quiet strength. Loud talent. Pure impact.

'Both proud representatives of Empiire Dance Institute, their legacy will forever live through the culture, the music, and the movement.

'Rest easy, kings. The floor will never forget you.'
