A man already serving life in prison in Colorado on state charges that he killed one and injured 12 more in a 2025 firebombing now has pleaded guilty to federal hate crimes counts.
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 46, likely will get another life term to serve.
His cases are the result of his decision to inflict a firebombing attack that targeted a Colorado demonstration in support of Israeli hostages.
It was the Run for Their Lives event in Boulder, Colorado, on June 1, 2025, that became his target, with his makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails, reports confirmed.

Harmeet Dhillon, of the DOJ's Civil Rights Division, said, "No one should be subjected to violence because of their religion or national origin. … With this plea, we hope to deliver a measure of justice to the victims and their families."
The defendant pleaded guilty this week to nine hate crime counts and three explosives charges.
The hate crime charges come with a maximum penalty of life in prison plus a $250,000 fine.
Sentencing is scheduled Jan. 7.
The Egyptian national already is serving life in prison for pleading guilty to 101 state law violations, including first-degree murder, attempted murder and more.
Soliman yelled "Free Palestine" during the attack.
And federal prosecutors said Soliman has admitted to targeting the group because he believed they were either Jewish or of Israeli origin.
A report from Denver's KDVR television said Soliman was yelling "Free Palestine" while he threw two Molotov cocktails into the crowd.
Karen Diamond, 82, was badly injured, along with a dozen others. She died days later.
Colorado U.S. District Judge John Kane said he would review sentencing guidelines before the next hearing.
WND has reported that in a related dispute, authorities moved to deport his family, and a federal judge cleared the way for that action.
Federal law enforcement officers responding to the attack discovered not only was he living in the UI.S. unlawfully, but so were his wife and five children.
Soliman entered the U.S. in August 2022 under the Biden administration and remained in the country after his visa expired, DHS confirmed.
