Just two days before midterm elections, Michigan Democrat Rep. Haley Stevens has broken from her party to endorse Republican nominee Mike Rogers in the state's Senate election.
Rep. Stevens made the shocking move after Rogers' opponent, Abdul El-Sayed, essentially said he wants nothing to do with her and told her to stay away from his campaign.

Now, the Democrat party is punishing Rep. Stevens for daring to break ranks and support Mike Rogers.
In an appearance on MS NOW, Michigan Democrat Party Chair Curtis Hertel publicly denounced Rep. Stevens and banished her from the party.

While Rep. Stevens may have been excommunicated from the Democrat party, a new spot may be opening up for her among Republicans.
President Trump told reporters today that he would love to see Rep. Stevens join the Republican party.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson confirmed that he has sent Rep. Stevens a note inviting her to cross the aisle.

Think about that. A sitting Democrat congresswoman endorses a Republican, and the Speaker of the House feels he has to tell her to stay safe!

President Donald Trump praises Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens after she endorsed Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's Senate race over her opposition to Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed.
Trump says he's never met Stevens but calls her "very brave" for speaking out, praising her "great and almost unprecedented loyalty" to Michigan voters.
He then takes aim at the Democratic nominee, declaring, "We don't want to have a jihadist."
It remains to be seen whether or not Rep. Stevens will accept President Trump's offer and make the switch.
But, one thing is for sure: the Democrat party is tearing itself apart as more extreme factions (led by those like El-Sayed) drive away more 'moderate' members.
