Democratic New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani attended the funeral of a fallen Army sergeant with a prepared eulogy but was never called to speak, the New York Post reported Friday.

Mamdani sat in the fourth row at the service for Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad at Calvary Assembly of God church in the Ozone Park section of Queens and reviewed his planned remarks on an iPad, sources told the Post. Gov. Kathy Hochul, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and other officials took turns at the microphone, but the mayor’s name never came up.

Religious liberty attorneys secured a legal victory for therapists who treat children struggling with gender confusion.

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty secured a permanent order on Thursday from U.S. District Judge Jane Beckering requiring Michigan to stop enforcing its 2023 law that barred counselors from engaging in talk therapy aimed at helping children struggling with gender dysphoria, according to a press release by the legal organization. This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in March that similar treatments are protected by the First Amendment. COLUMBIA, S.C. — More than 50 officials from seven southeastern states convened Thursday to sign a data-sharing agreement with the Department of Justice aimed at rooting out fraud.

Across the seven states, officials have uncovered roughly $350 million in alleged fraud, according to information shared with the Daily Caller. Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed Thursday, the states will give the DOJ access to “publicly available corporate registration and public benefits payment data held by these state agencies.” It is data officials said will help the department spot fraud patterns faster.

The House Ethics Committee refused to say Friday whether it would investigate Republican Ohio Rep. Max Miller in connection with domestic abuse allegations.

Miller’s ex-wife, Emily Moreno, accused the congressman of domestic abuse against her and their two-year-old daughter and filed for restraining orders. The House Ethics Committee declined to tell the Daily Caller News Foundation whether it would investigate these allegations.

The daughter of Democratic-backed independent Nebraska Senate candidate Dan Osborn allegedly operated several cam-girl accounts across a variety of pornographic platforms, the Daily Caller has learned.

Accounts that appear to have been operated by Osborn’s 22-year-old daughter, Georgia Kathleen Osborn, under the name “joanniemitchell” are consistent with other profiles previously reported as possibly connected to her. Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) does not appear destined for a quick reauthorization, even after Jay Clayton was confirmed as director of national intelligence (DNI).

Senate Republicans scheduled Clayton’s confirmation unusually fast following his nomination because they faced pressure to reauthorize Section 702, a warrantless government spying tool, after it lapsed on June 12. Senate Democrats initially voted against its reauthorization in response to President Donald Trump tapping Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte to be acting DNI, though they did not appear willing to support reauthorizing it anytime soon even after the upper chamber confirmed Clayton.

Republican support for the Iran war is waning as polling numbers show the ongoing conflict has become increasingly unpopular.

A July 23-27 AP-NORC survey found that a majority — 64% — of U.S. adults not think the war has been “worth fighting,” the Associated Press reported Thursday. The poll was conducted starting on the final day of 13 consecutive nights of U.S. strikes on Iran.
