GOP Governor Jim Pillen has been reelected in Nebraska's gubernatorial race, defeating Democrat opponent Lynne Walz.

On Tuesday, Pillen (R-Neb.) received 373,465 votes or 50%, while Walz (D-Neb.) gathered 311,363 votes or 42%, according to the Associated Press when 91% of the total votes were counted.

Sworn in as Nebraska's 41st governor in January 2023, Pillen is also an accomplished agribusiness leader. Outside of public office, he owns and operates Pillen Family Farms and acquired DNA Genetics, a firm specializing in swine breeding lines for commercial pork producers.

The GOP governor has made historic property tax relief and income tax cuts central to his administrative mission. He restructured the state's public education funding formula to better support rural school districts while advancing school choice initiatives. Drawing on his background as a livestock producer, Pillen has also actively promoted Nebraska's agricultural sector through international trade missions and rural development policies, according to his website.

He was endorsed by President Donald J. Trump, who referred to the conservative on Truth Social as a "friend, fighter, and WINNER" who has his "complete and total endorsement for re-election."
