Special-needs sixth grader left stranded on side of highway after leaving school with classmates for ICE protest

These school walkouts are getting really dumb, you guys. It's so bad, even ABC 7 doesn't want to put the full details in their social media posts.

The story isn't that her special-needs son Richard was wandering miles away from his school. The story is that on Tuesday morning students walked out of class at Dundee Middle School in the Chicago suburbs to protest ICE and they ended up leaving 11-year-old Richard behind after miles of marching.

He would soon call his mom, who fortunately was able to use his phone to track him. She found him near the "busy intersection" of Highway 72 and Randall Road.

For the record, mom was not notified about the walkout even though her son is part of a Individualized Education Program.

Here's ABC 7:

Richard doesn't want to go back to school now.

Furthermore, he didn't even know why they were leaving school; he just went along with the other students. (This is probably the norm for most of these students.)

"It's not right," mom said in the above interview, "because my kid is supposed to be safe in school."

Mom is now considering homeschooling Richard, and, as you might expect, she is considering legal action against the school.
