Rep. Haley Stevens is facing backlash from top Democrats after she crossed party lines and endorsed Republican Mike Rogers in the heated Michigan Senate race on Sunday.
The state's Democratic Party chairman even declared that she is no longer a member of the party, "nor will she be in the future."
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Stevens broke away from her party and joined Mike Rogers at a black church this morning before announcing her official endorsement of the Trump-backed Republican.
"I don't belong in Abdul's campaign. I do not stand with Hasan Piker, who gets trafficked on our college campuses. A dear friend of mine earlier today was saying that education is on the ballot, and she's absolutely right. And what our students see, what our children see, and who we are as Michiganders is not hate, and is not what we are getting out from our Democratic nominee right now," she continued.
"So, I am just one person. I love this state, as some of you know. I've, you know, run a campaign saying that it was a love letter to Michigan, and I'm here to declare who we are as Michiganders. This is Phil Hart's seat for the U.S. Senate. This is the conscience of the Senate right now and our Michigan moment. And I'm just letting you know where I am. I'm still a very proud Democrat. I still very much believe in everything I voted for and said, and I've worked really hard, and will continue to do so in all the ways life's opportunities afford. Godspeed, and love you all so much."

Senate Democrats are united in our support for Abdul El-Sayed, because we know he will fight for the economic interests of working families in Michigan, unlike Mike Rogers, who is a tool of Donald Trump and billionaire donors.
Fellow Michigan Democrats also lashed out at Stevens over her right turn.
Senator Elissa Slotkin blasted Stevens in a long statement accusing her of making the election about herself.
Any day of the week, Michiganders care more about the price of gas or groceries than the daily political drama or the last-minute moves by politicians for the TV cameras.

Rep. Debbie Dingell attacked Stevens, labeling the endorsement one of her "continued efforts to get attention."
Dem Rep Debbie Dingell: Michiganders are worried about how they are going to pay their mortgage and fill up their gas tanks, and the ability to afford groceries, healthcare, and housing. They want leaders focused on making their lives more affordable.
