Democrat Mary Peltola has taken a lead of just a few hundred votes in the Alaska Senate race after the Democrats successfully stacked the ballot against Incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan with decoy
candidate Daniel J. Sullivan.
Daniel J. Sullivan was recruited to run against Incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan by a staffer for Democrat challenger Mary Peltola, the New York Times revealed. The staffer was tasked with finding as many Dan Sullivans in Alaska as possible so they could add a second Dan Sullivan to the ballot.
The plan involved traveling to "far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs," the New York Times revealed after reviewing text messages and documents related to the scandal.
Now, Daniel J. Sullivan is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation, but he's apparently disappeared from the state!
After trailing Senator Dan S. Sullivan throughout the night and the morning by a razor-thin margin, Peltola now leads Sullivan by about 600 votes, just .3%, after about 5,200 votes were added to the count. The fake Daniel J. Sullivan currently has close to 3,600 of the votes.

The DOJ previously sued to block certification of Alaska's Senate race if the Democrats' decoy, Daniel J. Sullivan, causes incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan to lose. The lawsuit seeks to prevent certification if Sullivan loses but would have won "had all votes cast for Daniel J. Sullivan been cast instead for Senator Sullivan and Alaska's rank-choice process played out accordingly."
Earlier this morning, Dan S. Sullivan held a nearly 1% lead over Peltola.
Fox News legal editor Kerri Urbahn joined Lawrence Jones on Fox and Friends this morning to discuss the ongoing investigation into Daniel J. Sullivan, the decoy candidate, amid potential efforts to overturn the race if the fake Dan Sullivan causes Incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan to lose.
Urbahn suggested that the lies by the Democrats in their scheme to defraud voters could catch up with them.
