At approximately 10:54 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 91 Allen Avenue.
That night, officers canvassed the area, searching for suspects but found nothing.
The next day, officers responded to the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 91 Allen Avenue after it was reported that its glass door had been shattered by a projectile.
Law enforcement believed that the damage was related to the previous shooting incident and launched an investigation.
As part of the investigation, the Portland Police Department’s Special Reaction Team executed what the department described as a “high-risk” search warrant at an unspecified Allen Avenue address and carried out two “high-risk” traffic stops.
Police strangely did not reveal any details about the warrant execution or stops and gave no indication that anyone was arrested as a result of the operations.
Investigators now believe that the church was not specifically targeted. The investigation remains ongoing, and the police are urging members of the public to reach out if they have any relevant information.
