I'm not trying to impress you, I'm just trying to impress upon you, I'm like you. I'm no better than you. You know? I'm a 960 SAT guy ... I cannot - you've never seen me read a speech. Because I cannot read a speech.

He's trying to play to the crowd, but as a Democrat, he should know better than to hand his political enemies this kind of ammo.

What exactly was his angle here? He did something similar last year when he told two black men that he grew up on Wonder Bread and mac n' cheese:

Gavin Newsom grew up incredibly wealthy in California as a partaker of the Getty fortune. He's trying to appeal to regular Americans, but is incapable of doing so.

Then again, Dems have a history of stuff like this.

Gavin really thinks a lot of his voters!!
