Detroit police officers suspended for calling Border Patrol on illegals (they already have a new job offer)

Detroit police officers suspended for calling Border Patrol on illegals (they already have a new job offer)

Apparently, it's policy in Detroit to not cooperate with federal law enforcement.

I guess it's part of their "Sanctuary" for criminal aliens policy, and two cops are about to find out what happens when you violate policy by alerting Border Patrol about illegal aliens.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, Detroit's chief of police threatened to fire a police sergeant and an officer who called Border Patrol on illegals, but the city settled for suspending them without pay.

A Detroit police sergeant and officer were suspended without pay after the department chief said they contacted immigration authorities during a traffic stop.

Big picture view:

This comes after that sergeant, Denise Wallet, filed a lawsuit against the city to keep her job earlier on Thursday. She was previously suspended with pay after she sought help from Border Patrol in early February when a motorist provided a fraudulent driver's license.

So you can give fake IDs to Detroit cops and they are apparently not allowed to alert immigration authorities about it.

And if they do, they get suspended.

In Sgt. Wallet's case, she was called to the scene to handle a language barrier with the person in question. Then, according to Bettison, she called Border Patrol for translation help.

Border Patrol responded and detained the person.

DPD's policy states that an officer can not do that.

She wasn't even ratting on the illegal? She was calling Border Patrol to translate?

But the city doesn't allow you to call Border Patrol at all, ever, for any reason.

The other officer did legit call Border Patrol on a felon, however.

The other officer, who was suspended, apparently called Border Patrol while investigating a felony warrant.

He suspected the person was undocumented, and that individual was detained by Border Patrol.

And he was also suspended without pay.

Because Detroit is a clown town.

But, not to worry, if these two are out of a job now there's always someone willing to hire:

You love to see someone supporting our officers of the law.
