This headline should make you feel confident about election integrity!

The Associated Press is out here "debunking" the Department of Justice's attempts to fix California's voter rolls by pointing out that approximately 42% of voters

flagged by the system as potential illegal and fraudulent voters aren't even on the voter rolls.

There's only one problem with this debunk.

The DOJ lists aren't perfect. Not all of these people listed are illegal voters, they're just voters flagged as suspicious for multiple reasons, such as very old registrations, mismatched addresses, and other paperwork errors.

But the media just glosses over the actual problems by pointing out that the problems are really THAT bad, or something.

More than 4 in 10 names flagged as possible noncitizen voters in California by the Trump administration cannot be found on the state's voter rolls, according to a legal filing Saturday by an immigrant-rights group.

Oh, so the 4 in 10 number comes from a migrants' rights group?

The people who get paid to help illegal aliens stay in the country illegally?

It's the first outside analysis of a list that the Department of Justice has used to threaten prosecution of election officials. The analysis also found that thousands of U.S. citizens appear to be flagged as ineligible to vote on the government's list.
The contention was made in a filing by two data analysts at the University of California, Los Angeles. They analyzed the 20,930 names that the department demanded that California election officials treat as possible illegal voters by separating their ballots during the vote count on Election Day.

California is not going to listen to the DOJ and, as the AP noted, federal judges have ruled against Trump. Election officials also say there's just not enough time to handle this before Tuesday, so nothing will be done.
