Flyysoulja of the Island Boys was rushed to the hospital Oct. 29 after overdosing on a combination of cocaine, benzodiazepines, and Percocet.
The singer, whose real name is Alex Venegas, was placed under involuntary mental health evaluation after being taken to a Miami trauma unit, according to TMZ.
He remained in the hospital for four days following the overdose.
The rapper told TMZ he was celebrating the purchase of a new condo and car when things took a very unexpected turn. He said he had stopped using drugs for quite some time before the recent incident, after grappling with addiction for years.
This wasn't the first time Flyysoulja was Baker Acted. He was previously held for evaluation in November 2025 after a drug-induced psychotic episode at his home in the Miami area, according to TMZ.
He admitted to taking multiple substances before damaging parts of his home while unaware that he was livestreaming the entire 2025 ordeal. Following that incident, he admitted to having a substance abuse problem, but asserted he was not experiencing any mental health issues.
Flyysoulja expressed gratitude for the help he received at the time. He said he planned to check into rehab to address his issues and become a better version of himself and a more responsible father, according to TMZ.
