Federal Security Minister Omar García Harfuch reported Monday that 25 National Guard members, a state police officer, a security guard, and a woman, reportedly three months pregnant, were killed in attacks in Jalisco following a federal operation targeting CJNG leader Nemesio 'El Mencho' Oseguera Cervantes. The cartel leader was shot, detained, and later died while being transferred to Mexico City.

X owner Elon Musk is appealing the 120 million euro fine that was imposed on his company under the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA).

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the Mexican drug lord commonly known as “El Mencho” and leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has been killed in a military operation in Mexico.

The CJNG has become a large-scale criminal enterprise that rivals other major gangs such as the Sinaloa cartel. According to a report by Reuters, the Mexican government has been ramping up pressure on cartels after threats made by the Trump administration that the US could intervene to address cartel violence.
