Six days after a horrific shooting at an Idaho In-N-Out restaurant, police have released surveillance footage capturing the entire attack.
The video is absolutely harrowing.
In addition to showing the gunman, 24-year-old Chad Williams, carrying out the shooting, it also shows three armed civilians firing back.
ABC 7 NY provided a summary of the video:
The video shows the moment the carnage began, when the gunman drove up to the drive-thru payment window and fatally shot the first victim, In-N-Out employee Ashley Garibay, according to police.
The gunman then parked his car and shot another victim who was in his car, police said.
Later, the video shows the gunman looking through the payment window and seeing employees rendering aid to Garibay, according to police narration of the video.
The gunman was then seen firing into the payment window, according to police, and when his handgun jammed, he went to his car to get a rifle.
The video showed the chaos inside the restaurant as an off-duty trooper searched for the gunman and helped usher people to the exit, police said.
The gunman is then seen on video running back to the drive-thru with the rifle and later firing at customers, according to police.
Later on, video captured a Good Samaritan with a handgun engaging the suspect in the parking lot as the gunman continued to fire, police said.
The off-duty officer and the Good Samaritan both confronted the suspect, which police said helped stop the shooting.
Williams — who police believe acted alone — died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.

He then died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say he acted alone. Motive still unknown.…
Those brave civilians spotted firing back at Williams in the footage are getting a lot of praise for their actions — and, they may have inspired other residents of Twin Falls, ID to practice their Second Amendment rights.
Ever since the deadly mass shooting, gun sales have been spiking in the town.
Idaho News 6 reported:
Joshua Van Dyke, one of the owners at Homestead Tactical, said Sunday was among the store’s strongest sales days since opening.
“In the 3 1/2 years we’ve been here, Sunday was — if not the busiest day saleswise, it would be right up there in the top handful,” Van Dyke said.
Van Dyke showed me how their inventory had thinned following the surge in purchases after Saturday’s shooting.
“We’re denuded — this used to be a lot fuller,” Van Dyke said.
Law enforcement has credited armed citizens who responded to the mass shooting at In-N-Out with saving lives.
“We have hero citizens in our community and these citizens … did, and undoubtedly saved lives,” Twin Falls County Sheriff Jack Johnson said.
Van Dyke said Homestead Tactical emphasized training with each gun purchase.
“Having the tool is great, but what good is it if you don’t know how to use it,” Van Dyke said.
Van Dyke pointed to the armed citizen who intervened during the shooting as an example of what training can produce.
“The guy that stopped the shooting from getting any worse. He had been training, and he already had a plan in his head on how to respond and how to control his firearm,” Van Dyke said. “Those are topics that are discussed in the concealed carry class.”
Let this terrible incident serve as a reminder: if you don’t already carry a firearm, it might be a good time to start.
