‘Blue tsunami’: CNN host admits network and Democrats are one

Legacy media outlets in recent years have confirmed over and over that they endorse the Democrat party’s partisan agenda.

Positive stories about the administration of President Donald Trump? Almost never. Negative? Always, a trend that has been confirmed over and over by the Media Research Center.

The bias has been found in publications, in broadcast networks and more.

Now one CNN personality has confirmed it. On the air.

“And it took us years to get there, too,” the network’s Kasie Hunt announced.

She was responding on midterm election night to gains being made by Democrats.

Commenter Anderson Cooper had said President Donald Trump is “on the ballot.”

And commenter David Axelrod added, “He begged to be on the ballot and he is on the ballot. And the verdict is very, very negative. And it's broad across this big, diverse country.”

Hunt joined in, “And it took us years to get there, too.”

The exchanged started out with Hunt’s rant: “So, look, Anderson, at this point in the night, obviously, we’re still being conservative with our decision desk, but all of the both Republicans and Democrats I’m talking to are looking across the map and they are saying the same thing: that this night is shaping up to be a blue tsunami, just to use kind of the word that we have been wondering about the Senate races right now. Talarico's numbers are – he is outperforming where they need to be. The Gina Hinojosa campaign, the gubernatorial race there, they think they’re outperforming their numbers right now. That’s going to be much closer. Then you’ve got Ohio and Kansas. Republicans are saying they think those are likely – they’re telling me those are likely going to be gone, too. I mean, this is at a level that honestly was the greatest fear for Republicans. And it was something that Democrats didn’t dare to hope for.”

Axelrod: “Well, this is a repudiation that is absolutely broad. And the through line is Donald Trump. And the through line is Trump’s – are Trump’s policies.”

A report at Newsbusters, however, wondered, “Who’s ‘us?'”

“Giving Hunt the benefit of the doubt may lead one to believe that she's referring to the broader nation with the royal ‘us’, as in it took the nation years to get Donald Trump to a midterm blowout. But that's not what happened. If you go back and look at Hunt's statement, she's talking about how Ohio, Kansas, and Texas being ‘gone’ for the Republicans, and how that's something Democrats didn't dare hope for. Hunt didn't get to complete her thought because David Axelrod and Anderson Cooper had an exchange. But she did when they finished. Hunt then made clear that the ‘us’ she was referring to was the Democrats who dared not hope for a midterm blowout,” the report said.

Actually, the report said, “It makes complete sense for Hunt to say ‘it took years.’ Now that the thing happened, with Texas fully flipping blue, Hunt's mask slips completely off. The first of many, as Democrats sweep back into Washington, D.C., where an eager press awaits them.”
