Predictably, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel was not a fan of President Trump’s Tuesday State of the Union address, but even by his standards, Kimmel went off the rails.

Kimmel began by declaring, “It was an angry speech. The theme of tonight's speech was all foreigners are murderers. And Trump just—he said zero illegal aliens have been allowed into the United States on his watch, but the door is always open to those who come in legally to be his next wife. So, that's something. He bragged about ending DEI, he bragged about kicking two million people off food stamps. It was like a Christmas message from the Grinch.”

This year, the left was more deliberate in counterprogramming President Trump’s State of the Union address. Over 70 Democrat Members of Congress chose not to attend, going instead to one of several alternate events where attendees would gather and spit bile about how much America sucks, in their opinion. One of those events was headlined by Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro.

Just after midnight in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, CNN was still reacting to President Trump’s State of the Union address when co-anchor Jake Tapper led the rest of the ladies on the panel in clutching their pearls over Democrats getting called out as “crazy” by the President. Of course, they didn’t mention what issue Trump called them “crazy” for supporting and it was a pretty disturbing one.

You would think that a veteran communications professional and former White House Press Secretary would show a modicum of respect when mentioning the various State of the Union honorees. Not if you are one Jennifer Rene Psaki, currently of MS NOW, “analyzing” President Donald Trump’s address.

Before President Trump had even exited the House chamber following his 2026 State of the Union address on Tuesday night, CBS News was already poohpoohing it by whining about Trump making Democrats look bad by oversimplifying complex issues like protecting criminal illegal immigrants over American citizens. They also continued the debunked lie that Democratic Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger was “very much a moderate.”

In October, the new owners of CBS appointed Bari Weiss to the new position of “Editor-in-Chief,” which has made her far more controversial than the actual content of CBS News would suggest. Weiss quickly became a scandalous figure out of all proportion to the actual content of CBS News under her watch. She was tumbling “the dominoes of capitulation,” wrote Margaret Sullivan.

On Monday’s PBS News Hour, co-anchor Geoff Bennett used a discussion of President Trump’s upcoming State of the Union address to dredge up a hoary piece of liberal media mythology that helped doom the re-election chances of Republican President George H.W. Bush in 1992.

Early Tuesday, America’s new leading family — as in the Hughes klan, including USA Hockey star and gold-medal-winning goal scorer Jack Hughes  — waded into network morning newscasts and were sadly met on ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today with attempts to sully their reputations and maim both their character and the entire men’s team for taking a phone call Sunday from President Trump and accepting his invite to the State of the Union.

Maybe ABC News should consider finding someone to replace moderator Whoopi Goldberg on The View. We know they won’t get rid of her the unhinged nonsense she spews, but maybe they’d act on her refusing to do the bare minimum required for the gig: keeping up-to-date on the current events they talk about. On Tuesday’s show, Goldberg announced that she wouldn’t be watching President Trump’s State of the Union later that night and only watch the news about it.

On Tuesday, ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA) and CBS Mornings combined to offer widely negative rhetoric in previewing President Trump’s State of the Union, painting it as an almost hapless endeavor amid “his lowest numbers yet” to change the minds of voters poised to trigger a blue tsuanmi in November.

The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index® increased by 2.2 points in February to 91.2 (1985=100), from an upwardly revised 89.0 in January, the think tank reported Tuesday.

An improvement in consumers’ expectations for the next six months offset a decline in their assessment of current conditions, resulting in the net upturn in the overall index.
