Harmeet Dhillon resigned as the Justice Department Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Fox News reported on Thursday.
Harmeet is the first Justice Department official to resign since Tuesday night's midterm loss.
According to reports, Harmeet Dhillon will return to California to work in her private practice.
Harmeet Dhillon told Fox News that she wanted to quit three weeks ago but White House advisor Susie Wiles told her to wait until after the midterms.
"Serving my country as AAG for Civil Rights has been the honor of a lifetime. We ushered in the downfall of illegal DEI, we fought to protect women and girls' sports, and so much more. I want to thank President Trump for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to what's next!" Harmeet said.

Fox News reported:
Harmeet Dhillon resigned Thursday as the Department of Justice's assistant attorney general for civil rights, sources told Fox News.
Dhillon, who assumed office in April 2025, ran the Civil Rights Division. She is leaving after President Donald Trump's Republican Party lost the House and Senate in this week's midterm elections.
In the leadup to the midterms, Dhillon defended the Trump administration's investigation into noncitizen voters.
Dhillon's resignation comes after a grand jury declined to indict January 6 star witness Cassidy Hutchinson.

Harmeet Dhillon spearheaded the investigation into Cassidy Hutchinson after the 'star witness' testified in June 2022 that Trump got into "the beast" after his speech at the Ellipse on January 6 with the belief that he would be driven to the Capitol.
Last week, the grand jury declined to indict Cassidy Hutchinson.
Attorney General Todd Blanche said he accepted Harmeet Dhillon's resignation.
Today, I accepted the resignation of Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who led the Civil Rights Division with conviction the past 18 months. She has defended the civil liberties of every American and enforced the law without fear or favor. The Department is grateful for…
