Leading left-wing lawmakers in Germany have suggested that “foreign forces” like Russia may have been behind the Islamist attack on Berlin’s Pride Parade last week in order to sway upcoming elections.

Despite Abdul Ballout, the 21-year-old Lebanese-heritage terrorist, reportedly declaring his allegiance to the so-called Islamic State before taking a van and mowing down attendees at the Christopher Street Day parade last week in the German capital, the attack may not be all that it seems, Social Democrat Bundestag members have suggested.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Russia launched an intense barrage of ballistic missiles and drones overnight into Saturday, killing at least nine people and wounding 30 civilians in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, authorities said.

The strikes follow a major Russian attack two days earlier that killed at least 10 people and wounded more than 50 others across Ukraine, as Moscow apparently looks to exploit Kyiv´s critical shortage of Western-supplied anti-ballistic missile defenses. The relentless cycle of attacks dims the potential of reaching a diplomatic end to Russia´s more than 4-year-old invasion of its neighbor.

CEUTA, Spain (AP) – The death toll in Spain’s Ceuta border crisis with Morocco has climbed to 67, the Spanish government said Saturday. They included some who drowned and some who were killed in a stampede to cross a breakwater barrier.

Spain announced it was installing a 500-meter-long containment barrier along the breakwater fence into the sea after between 50,000 and 60,000 migrants breached the tiny Spanish territory’s frontier between Thursday and Friday.

During his closing monologue on Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that he can’t go a week without seeing a “newly-chosen exciting new face in the Democratic Party” that is a Communist or some other version of crazy and he would back Sarah Palin over the DSA.

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Inside Politics,” host Dana Bash said that Democratic Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong wouldn’t give a yes or a no on whether she still wants to defund the police.

During a longer exchange on Hong’s past and current views on policing, Bash asked, “I just want to, just to, sort of, put a fine point on it, you said your views can evolve, have your views actually evolved on defunding the police?”

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Inside Politics,” Democratic Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong responded to a question on if she has changed her past view on defunding the police by saying that “I think that what my values are are where some of my beliefs are as well, but where my values are is in making sure that public safety is for everyone, that everyone has access to it.”

Hong sat for the interview on America’s Newsroom. The state representative belongs to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and pays dues. Perino pressed her on old posts. Those posts backed defunding police, abolishing the Senate, and getting rid of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Friday on MS NOW’s “The Beat,” longtime Democrat strategist James Carville called President Donald Trump a “washed-up, fat old man.”

Carville said, “I don’t think Trump matters that much anymore. I think he’s a washed-up, fat old man. I think he’s going to, in spite of everything the Democrats are doing, is going to have a massive loss in November. And I’ve said this repeatedly, I think he’s going to walk away. I don’t think he’s capable of leading this country. I don’t think he has the energy.”

Wisconsin Democrat gubernatorial front-runner Francesca Hong argued in a resurfaced post that Americans should “cancel Thanksgiving,” according to a since-deleted 2020 tweet circulating online days before the state’s August 11 primary.

Friday on MS NOW’s “The Beat,” longtime Democrat strategist James Carville said this country is in grave peril and “the Democratic Party is not meeting the moment.”

Carville said, “Let’s take the plane another 10,000 feet. This is the truth, we have lost a war. We lost a war to a third world power. Get over it. Right now our debt to GDP ratio, I think, is higher than it was in 1946, after we actually won a war. And then today in the Wall Street Journal, which you alluded to very justifiably and very perceptively—a woman by name of Meredith O’Rourke is the president’s fundraiser. She says she calls donors that have met with the president and says, ‘The president wants this money. Now, pay up.’  And it goes between $5-15 million. That is the staggering level of debt, defeat and corruption that the United States of America, at the end of July in 2026, is facing. And I have got to tell you, I am not impressed by the response of a lot of people in the Democratic Party. We’re having a race in Michigan and we’re talking about Palestinian self-determination. We’re having a race in Wisconsin, we’re talking about whether we should tax Harley-Davidson 17%. We’re not meeting the moment. The Democratic Party, this country is in grave peril and in my opinion the Democratic Party is not meeting the moment.”

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) co-chair Megan Romer doubled down this week in her viral Fox News interview, describing the U.S. Senate as an institution with “no real purpose.”

Romer spoke on the Bad Faith podcast, hosted by Briahna Joy Gray. Gray once served as national press secretary for Bernie Sanders. The appearance followed Romer’s Fox News Sunday interview from days earlier that drew backlash from both parties. On the podcast, Romer defended the DSA platform and hit back at critics who called her earlier remarks radical.
