“We’re gonna beat the fuck outta you,” one man shouted, leaning in. Another got in LaBeouf’s face: “Chill the fuck out!”

The same man issued a warning that started with “if you do that shit one more time” — the rest drowned out by the chorus of voices berating the actor.

LaBeouf tried to get up again. He was shoved right back down.

“Stay down!” one of the men yelled.

Seconds later, they had him pinned flat on the pavement and appeared to hold him there until the video cut out.

It’s unclear what sparked the Mardi Gras beatdown, but initial reports suggest LaBeouf picked a fight with an employee at a local bar. TMZ reported that the actor was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries before being arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.

LaBeouf — who has publicly claimed sobriety in recent years and blamed past abusive behavior on alcoholism — had been bar-hopping through the city’s Uptown neighborhood since Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
