A Republican Senate aide has crossed the aisle to work for the Democrat trying to flip the Senate seat his boss is about to vacate.
James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, has brought on a policy staffer who spent five years working for Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn, NOTUS reported Monday.
Jacob Smith, who served Cornyn as deputy legislative director and policy adviser, will take on the role of deputy policy director for the Talarico campaign.
Staff switching parties is uncommon, and the hire hints that Talarico wants to court Republican voters in a state that hasn't elected a Democrat in decades, NOTUS reported.

Cornyn lost the May 26 Republican primary runoff to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, ending a Senate tenure that began in 2002.
The defeat made the four-term senator the first Texas Republican to lose his party's renomination for the

President Donald Trump turned to a 16-year-old lifeguard he was honoring Monday and asked the teen whether he agreed that a CNN correspondent was being rude.
The clash took place in the Oval Office, where Trump had welcomed Ryder Williams to recognize the teenager's rescue of a drowning boy, according to RedState.
During the event, CNN White House correspondent Kristen Holmes pressed the president on his North Korea policies, and Trump grew visibly irritated as she tried to follow up.
"Quiet. You're very disrespectful in front of this young man, okay?" Trump said, before turning to Williams.
"Don't you find her disrespectful?" the president asked the teen, who did not respond.
"He understands. Quiet. Who are you with?" Trump continued. (RELATED: Trump Orders US To 'Substantially Reduce' Joint Military Exercises, Citing 'Unthreatening And Respectful' Foe)

Every August, college sorority recruitment videos go viral on social media and sometimes spark a debate on whether sorority girls are based, conservative, or future feminists in the making.
Here's a recent video out of Arizona State University (an infamous party school) that made the rounds on X:

Typically, big MAGA influencer accounts pretend that liberals get offended by the dancing sorority girls. I'm not sure that's the case at all, and it wouldn't shock me if at least a third of the girls in the video, if not more, vote Democratic every election. Perhaps they're not even political.
But here's a question I don't see asked enough: where are the fathers?
Around this time last year, I wrote how sorority recruitment videos are a good sign for America. Seeing that so many young people are depressed and anxious and addicted to phones,

World Liberty Financial, the crypto industry company co-founded by Alex and Zach Witkoff — sons of billionaire Trump advisor Steve Witkoff — along with Trump family members, is reportedly backing a Hong Kong artificial intelligence (AI) venture tied to Chinese companies restricted by the United States government.
According to a Reuters report, the firm has entered into a partnership with WorldClaw — a relatively new Hong Kong-based company that gives subscribers access to a range of AI models developed by companies worldwide. However, a Reuters investigation found that around half of the AI models offered by WorldClaw are owned by, or originate from, mainland Chinese companies that the U.S. government has restricted from doing business in the United States over national security concerns.
These companies, according to the Reuters report, include Alibaba, Baidu, and Z.ai, alongside several others.
While the partnership between the children of the U.S. president and those of one of his closest advisors with Chinese AI companies is concerning enough, the Daily Caller previously reported that the Office of

Ex-Baltimore Ravens linebacker O.J. Brigance, who was also a longtime advisor in player engagement for the franchise, has passed away 19 years following his ALS diagnosis. He was 56 years old.
Brigance's death was announced Monday by the Ravens.
Winning a Super Bowl in 2000 with Baltimore, Brigance became an inspiration for the team for around 20 years due to being determined in his battle against the disease and surpassing his original prognosis. (RELATED: Tom Pelissero Lands Gig At Netflix Following Unexpected Layoff From NFL Network)
"We are devastated by the awful news that we have lost O.J. Brigance," said Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti in an official statement, per ESPN.
"O.J. was a beloved legend, mentor and man to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His infectious smile and the inspirational way he lived and played endeared him to everyone he touched, both inside our building and across this city. This is a tremendously sad day for Baltimore."
With profound sadness, we mourn the passing of our beloved O.J.

Republican Texas congressional candidate Brandon Herrera's campaign committee has out-raised his opponent's whole campaign in less than one quarter, according to documents reviewed by the Daily Caller.
Herrera, who is running against Democratic Texas congressional candidate Katy Stout, reported raising $484,915.03 for his campaign committee, while ending the period with $171,372.78 in cash on hand. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Poll Shows Brandon Herrera Overtaking Tony Gonzales In Key House Primary)

Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff accused President Donald Trump of caring more about jetting around with a favored assistant than running the country.

The hatred for data centers is pretty bad when beverage companies team up with famous NFL players to mock them.
Liquid Death, which makes canned water, Garage Beer, and NFL legend Jason Kelce, have launched a new ad campaign spoofing the amount of water AI data centers consume to keep computers cool.
The campaign is dubbed "We Want Your Pee" and opens with a "P[EE].S.A.-style" video featuring Kelce and the co-owner of Garage Beer, according to Ad Week.
"AI data centers waste millions of gallons of water," Kelce, who is sitting on a toilet and filling up a bottle with his urine, tells the camera.
Kelce then enters a meadow and begins singing a corny tune.
"We want your pee, please give us your pee," Kelce sings alongside Liquid Death's mascot, "Murder Man." They are later joined by more people holding jars of urine, singing in unison, "Let's pee on computers together to save humanity."
It's a bit corny, I have to admit. But something

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese criticized states Saturday who he claimed were standing in the way of his gun "buyback" program.
Albanese announced plans on Dec. 19, 2025, for a mass confiscation of firearms from law-abiding gun owners in response to the Dec. 14, 2025, attack carried out by gunmen inspired by the radical Islamic terrorist group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria at Bondi Beach. Greetings, Dear Reader,
Day 2 of being back at work following the birth of my third. Honestly, I'm happy. Happiest I've ever been. Healthy kids, healthy wife, healthy family.
I saw something funny yesterday …
JON 'PEE-WEE HERMAN' OSSOFF IS DOA
Despite his (((handicap))), Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff believes he can run for president in '28 on the Democrat ticket.
Conservative power centers in Washington are quietly worried about Ossoff, particularly his focus on Trump Inc's business dealings. (Let's be honest, getting approval for your own bank from your own regulators is not a great look for the guy who originally promised to drain the swamp.)
Ossoff isn't cringe and lame or weird and gross like most male Democrats. He's also hit a populist line against Trump that might just convince the middle 20% of the country, without listing into outright socialist arguments.
If the left-wing electorate can get over his Jewishness, he might just have a chance.
It's unfortunate then that he recently exposed himself (phrasing) as a spineless coward
