Dr. Anthony Fauci’s newly released journals have cast light onto the glory-seeking nature of his response to the COVID pandemic, and in response the Senate brought him to testify for his lies and possible perjury. 

With a major chunk of their credibility tied to their defense of pandemic practices, the media has been quick to portray the hearing as a show trial and political prosecution. This Thursday’s CNN News Central featured co-host Sara Sidner covering the scandal with such a narrative.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky dropped some fascinating messages from Dr. Anthony Fauci and his very political approach to "the science" of Covid, not to mention the chummy collusion between Fauci and the press. After Paul's hearing, the networks and the News Apps painted Fauci as a victim of unhinged Republicans waging a war on science.

CNN senior correspondent Donie O’Sullivan joined The Source host Kaitlan Collins on Thursday to promote his new documentary, The Left Insurgency, that will air on Sunday. As part of that documentary, O’Sullivan interviewed far-left influencer Hasan Piker, who is known for being a member of the Mao Zedong fan club, but despite this, O’Sullivan claimed that the “democratic socialists” just want to make America more like Norway.

One can’t accuse the PBS News Hour of ignoring the Anthony Fauci hearings. The first 12-plus minutes of Wednesday’s show were devoted to the hearings, and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee chairman Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) ongoing tangle with the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who headed up America’s COVID response under President Trump and then President Biden.

This week, the “Big Three” Networks and News Apps shielded fellow elitist liberal, Dr. Tony Fauci, largely ignoring bombshell revelations from his pandemic-era diaries released Saturday by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) before Wednesday’s Senate hearing and, following the proceedings, promulgating Fauci’s preferred framing of a “deep, partisan,” and “fiery” affair foisted upon him by Republicans.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show host-of-the-week Jordan Klepper and NBC’s Late Night host Seth Meyers finally acknowledged the existence of the Fauci Hearings on their Thursday shows and eagerly stepped up to defend him. According to Klepper, the hearings featured Republicans trying to reduce a complicated topic to “a performative partisan filter," while Meyers blamed President Trump for any of the federal government’s public health apparatus's trust problems.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), who have defeated several Democrat incumbents this election cycle, will be hosting their “Socialists Summit” this weekend, July 31-August 2, in Chicago. At this summit, the DSA will offer socialist organizing training to its participants, including on “Governing as Socialists” and on “Building to a General Strike.” This event will include a surprise keynote speaker, and all those who attend will have to submit a negative COVID test.

Thursday’s CNN This Morning was forced to cover the aftermath of Dr. Anthony Fauci pleading the Fifth Amendment in a Senate hearing focused on Fauci’s actions during the pandemic and diaries released by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY). But the network continued to minimize the diaries and the hearing overall, as Democratic CNN commentator Maria Cardona called it a politicized “sham” and fill-in host Erica Hill called the diaries “a choose-your-own-adventure of 1,100 pages.”

You’ve heard of Optimist International, the global service organization. If there were a “Pessimist International,” MS NOW military analyst Barry McCaffrey could be kicked out of it — for being too darn negative.

Caution is warranted when predicting U.S. success in foreign military operations. Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq remain sobering reminders.

On Thursday Hillary Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee as part of their investigation of the Epstein files, where she claimed in her opening statement that she had never met Jeffrey Epstein, and accused the committee of using her testimony to "distract" from and "cover up" Donald Trump's involvement with Epstein. This is a theme that the leftist media had been pushing, and later, on CNN's The Arena, Hillary's words seemed to serve as a shot in the arm for them to ratchet up the anti-Trump rhetoric.

In the wake of Iranian Supreme Leader Aylatollah Khamenei coming down with a killer headache after getting a U.S. warhead on his forehead, on Saturday, The Washington Post published one of their infamous glowing remembrances of Islamic terrorists. The paper fondly remembered the brutal Islamic dictator as a “avuncular figure” with an “easy smile” and love for “Persian poetry.”
