British political activist Laurence Fox was invited to speak at the Oxford Union, where he spoke on the dangers of Islam in Western society.
During his speech, Fox threatened to show a cartoon of Muhammad and the freakout really, really proved his point:
78% of British Muslims believe that no publication should publish pictures of Muhammad. An overwhelming majority. That rises to 87%, that's 9 out of every 10 Muslims, that are walking the street today in a country which absolutely abandoned blasphemy laws ... The West should resist Islam on the strongest terms on free speech grounds alone.
So here we are with this cartoon, right? And it's time to show that I will not submit. I will not adhere to religious law of far off places.
The opponents of Fox absolutely went nuts. They claimed that they totally support free speech by inviting Fox to speak. But he better not show the cartoon.
Fox then revealed the cartoon, which is not a satire of Muhammad at all (he didn't need a fatwa on his head on top of everything else).
But the point was made.
Islam is not compatible with Western Civilization.
