A surprising Texas city has been named one of the most romantic metropolitan areas in the United States.
Austin has been ranked third behind New York City and Nashville, Tennessee in a list of the country's most romantic cities.
The top five list, compiled by dating app Agilis, is rounded out by Chicago, Illinois in fourth place and Jacksonville, Florida in fifth.
The app company used Google search trends across 20 American cities to put the list together.
Twenty-eight popular terms including 'romantic getaways', 'date night ideas' and 'proposal locations' were tracked as part of the research.
New York City took the top spot after researchers found 212 searches related to romance per 100,000 residents.
Nashville residents looked up terms related to love 201.5 times for every 100,000 people, placing them second.
Austin meanwhile had slightly less romance searches, logging 200.1 for every 100,000 residents.
The family of a UCLA student who died after falling from the window of her Seattle apartment have questioned the circumstances surrounding her death after a friend told a 911 dispatcher she had been 'extremely intoxicated' moments before the fatal fall.
Dayanara Nicole Urbina Ruiz, 21, died on Thursday after falling from an open window at the Trailside Seattle Apartments overlooking the Burke-Gilman Trail in Seattle's University District.
Ruiz was a communications student at UCLA who was spending the summer in Seattle as a marketing intern with Amazon Web Services.
She suffered multiple blunt force injuries after unintentionally falling from the open window, according to the King County Medical Examiner.
Emergency dispatch records show a friend called 911 at about 9.19pm to report Ruiz was intoxicated, running into the street and trying to get into strangers' vehicles while the caller attempted to get her back inside the apartment.
Dispatcher notes read: 'RP'S EXTREMELY INTOX FRIEND RUNNING AROUND. RP TRYING TO GET HER BACK INSIDE TO HER APARTMENT. SUBJ TRYING TO GET INTO PEOPLE'S VEHS. RUNNING IN THE STREET. INTOX ON ALCOHOL. NO WPNS.'

The controversial £290,000-a-year vice chancellor of a university at the centre of a £1million money laundering and bribery probe has been sacked.

But AEMET, Spain's national meteorological agency, said this morning that the sea surface temperatures just off the coast of Mallorca reached a sweltering 33.02C on Wednesday.
If confirmed, this would beat the previous temperature record set in the Mediterranean, 31.96C, which was set in 2024 off the coast of the Egyptian city of El-Arish.
The record before that was set in 2023, when the mercury hit 28.71C in July of that year.

A young urban explorer has been left in critical condition after falling about twenty stories from an abandoned grain elevator in Minnesota.
Ash Ranallo, whose full name is Lilly Maria 'Ash' Ronallo-Korbel, and several others trespassed inside a disused property known as the Checkerboard Grain Elevator in Minneapolis on Monday around 8.30pm, police said.
The 18-year-old, who goes by male pronouns, landed on a beam outside of the grain elevator after plunging, the Minneapolis Police Department said.
The Minneapolis Fire Department used a truck ladder to reach the Ash and provided medical emergency care at the scene before he was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials stated.
'This is an individual out having fun, seeking adventure and made a bad decision that resulted in life-threatening injuries. It is miraculous that [the teen] is alive,' Sgt. Garrett Parten said during a press conference on the incident.
Ash, who appears to frequently participate in daring activities according to his social media pages, is now fighting for his life after his heart stopped for about 20 minutes at the hospital, his mother, Nicole Emery, said in an update on Tuesday.

A Los Angeles teenager who narrowly survived an electric bicycle crash has spoken out about the dangers of riding e-bikes.
Raquel Waters, 14 at the time of the accident, has only just fully recovered from critical injuries to recount the harrowing moment that almost took her life.
