Authorities in southern Idaho are investigating a deadly active shooter incident that unfolded Saturday afternoon near a busy shopping area anchored by an In-N-Out Burger restaurant, leaving at least three people dead, including the gunman, and several others injured.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene shortly after 2:30 p.m. local time following reports of gunfire in and around the fast-food establishment.
According to Twin Falls city and police officials, the violence began inside an In-N-Out location before spilling out toward the surrounding parking lot. Video footage captured by witnesses on social media showed shoppers fleeing the area as multiple gunshots echoed across the commercial corridor.
As of 6:03 P.M. PT on Saturday, the shooter has not been identified.

First responders from the Twin Falls Police Department, Idaho State Police and local fire and paramedic crews rapidly cordoned off the area to secure the perimeter and render emergency medical care.
Those injured were also transported to nearby medical facilities, including St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, which coordinated closely with law enforcement during the initial response.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed that the suspect died at the scene and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. He also stated during an initial briefing that it remains unknown whether the gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, law enforcement intervention or another cause.
In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement shut down major thoroughfares (public roads and streets) in the surrounding area, including access near the Perrine Bridge, and issued a shelter-in-place advisory for nearby residents and shoppers.
Nonetheless, that order was subsequently lifted once officers verified that the lone shooter was down.
Detectives and state investigators reportedly remain on site gathering evidence, reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing dozens of witnesses gathered from nearby storefronts as they work to establish a timeline and determine a motive for the attack.
