Festivities for the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army celebration kicked off on Saturday in the nation's capital.
A wreath-laying ceremony with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth took place at Arlington National Cemetery in the morning followed by a festival with various events throughout the day until the parade begins at 6:30pm.
A fireworks display is scheduled to follow the parade.
The event coincides with President Trump's 79th birthday and Flag Day.
Trump is scheduled to participate in the event.
Anti-Trump "No Kings" protests in cities and towns across the country are taking place as the 250th anniversary celebration unfolds.
