Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ Could Ban States From Regulating AI

The US is moving closer to enacting a sweeping federal measure that would strip individual states of the power to regulate artificial intelligence (AI)

Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ would effectively ban states from regulating AI

Below, top podcast host Joe Rogan and Alex Jones break down the provision in the bill.

The BBB is currently going through Congress, but as Rogan points out there’s a section in it that prohibits state and local governments from passing any laws regulating artificial intelligence for the next ten years.

The bill calls for the end to all state AI regulations, and bans them from enforcing existing regulations.

It reads:: “No state or political subdivision thereof may enforce any law or regulation regulating artificial intelligence models, artificial intelligence systems, or automated decision systems during the 10-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.”

Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene says she’ll oppose Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’ if AI provision isn’t removed

According to The Hill she is calling on the Senate to eliminate a provision that would ban state regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) from President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” arguing it violates states’ rights.

“Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278-279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years,” Greene wrote Tuesday in a post on the social platform X. “I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.”

“We have no idea what AI will be capable of in the next 10 years and giving it free rein and tying states hands is potentially dangerous,” the Georgia Republican added.
