Trump Blasts Putin: “Maybe He Doesn’t Want To Stop The War, He’s Just Tapping Me Along”

Floats “secondary sanctions”

President Trump met one on one in a unique setting Saturday with Ukrainian President Zelensky as the two sat down on the sidelines of the Pope’s funeral in Rome.

It made for quite a picture as the pair discussed a potential “historic” peace deal to end the war inside the grand sixteenth-century St Peter’s Basillica.

French President Macron tried to inject himself into the meeting but was clearly told it did not concern him.

It was the first face to face exchange since the infamous Oval Office showdown in February and Zelensky called it a “good meeting” on X, suggesting the parties are close to a “Reliable and lasting peace that will prevent another war from breaking out.”

He also said “thank you.” Maybe he’s learned a lesson from last time.

Meanwhile, Trump criticised Vladimir Putin Saturday in a Truth Social post, noting “there was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days.”

Trump further urged “It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through Banking or Secondary Sanctions?”

“Too many people are dying!!!” Trump emphasised.

The president also took aim at the legacy media for pushing the narrative that peace can only be achieved with the return of Crimea to Ukraine.

Trump referred to that situation as “the Obama Crimea Giveaway” and argued that the media didn’t bother to criticise the former President for allowing Russia to take the territory.

“I’ve had nothing to do with this stupid war, other than early on, when I gave Ukraine Javelins, and Obama gave them sheets,” Trump asserted, adding “This is Sleepy Joe Biden’s War, not mine. It was a loser from day one, and should have never happened, and wouldn’t have happened if I were President at the time.”

“I’m just trying to clean up the mess that was left to me by Obama and Biden, and what a mess it is,” he further proclaimed.

The AP is reporting today that All Ukrainian troops have been forced from Russia’s Kursk region, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

In a statement, Putin congratulated Russian soldiers and commanders, declaring that Kyiv’s incursion had “completely failed”.

The Ukrainian army shocked the Russians last Summer by penetrating the border and taking control of around 500 square miles of land in the region.

“The complete defeat of our enemy along Kursk´s border region creates the right conditions for further successes for our troops and in other important areas of the front,” Putin further asserted.

Yesterday, Trump expressed optimism about the progress of talks with Russia and Ukraine after his special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Putin.

“They are very close to a deal, and the two sides should now meet, at very high levels, to ‘finish it off.’” Trump noted, adding “Most of the major points are agreed to. Stop the bloodshed, NOW. We will be wherever is necessary to help facilitate the END to this cruel and senseless war!”
