The relationship between Elon Musk and President Trump has hit a pretty major bump in the road, but there is hope that they can reconcile.
Unless you live under a rock, you know that Elon Musk snapped Thursday, accusing President Trump of blocking the release of the Epstein files because “he’s in them,” so basically suggesting, whether trollingly or not, that Trump is a pedo.
Trump threatened to pull federal funding from Musk’s companies for opposing the BBB, prompting Musk to initially declare he would decommission the SpaceX Dragon, the only operational US spacecraft capable of transporting astronauts to and from the International Space Station. He later walked back that idea.
The Daily Caller claims that ‘White House Insiders’ say it was Trump’s dismissal of the nomination of Jared Isaacman, a Musk ally, to run NASA that was the last straw for Elon.
Musk also proposed a new political party “that actually represents the 80% in the middle,” and seemingly endorsed Trump’s impeachment. However, later in the evening, maybe as the Ketamine wore off, Musk seemed more open to a positive way forward.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was one voice of reason during all this, noting that he firmly believes Musk and Trump will reconcile sooner rather than later because when push comes to shove, they both want the same thing.
“It’s been hard to watch today and unfortunate in some regards,” Kirk told Fox News host Laura Ingraham, adding that “both of these men deserve great credit for their contributions to help save civilization. Elon Musk bought Twitter, which, of course, became X a couple years ago, which liberated speech. And then, of course, President Trump built the most amazing political movement we’ve ever seen.”
“He was shot, almost shot again,” Kirk continued “He was impeached twice. He was facing 700 years in federal prison, and he was so clear about not surrendering and not backing down and not giving up. I will say it’s a tough thing to watch this public feud.”
“I actually think they’re going to reconcile at some point, though, because, deep down, I would like to believe they both want the same thing. But we must be very clear, though, that what President Trump wants in this bill, because that really was the forcing function of this kind of this feud and this schism, is exactly what he ran on,” Kirk urged.
Commenting on the legislation that has driven a wedge between Trump and Musk, Kirk noted “This was never an omnibus bill. This was not some sort of big, bloated bill. Instead, it is no tax on tips. The best border security we’ve ever seen, growing ICE agents, where ICE agents have not seen any sort of personnel increase of headcount since their original charter in nearly 20 years.”
He concluded, “We’re going to see amazing energy independence, tax on remittances, asylum claim fees. We’re going to finally be able to finance mass deportations. We’re going to see a bottom-up middle-class revolution, a blue-collar revolution that we saw under Trump one.”
Elon has criticised the bill, but ultimately he wants to see the core elements of it come to fruition.
It was interesting, and alarming, to see a divide quickly emerge with some people on X running immediately to their preferred camps, but it pays to take a step back, consider the bigger picture, keep focus and remember who the real enemy are.
