Google’s has debuted its latest AI video generator, called Veo 3, with clips that are so lifelike it has many asking whether we’re all just a previous iteration of AI, living our lives inside a self perpetuating simulated reality.
Veo 3 is part of Google’s Deepmind project, which is in its infancy, prompting many to ask, if this stuff is already almost indistinguishable from videos made by human filmmakers and actors, what on Earth is it going to be like in 5 or 10 years?
Unlike many of its competitors, Google DeepMind’s Veo 3 is capable of including dialogue, soundtracks and sound effects, including echo and reverbs on voices to match the specific spaces they’re in.
It’s so over.

Google Veo 3 AI does speech and sound for its video generation now.
Not sure how I feel about this. pic.twitter.com/C0voPsrDY6
In another clip posted on X, filmmaker and molecular biologist Hashem Al-Ghaili highlights a series of short films of AI-generated actors railing against their AI creators and prompts.
I did more tests with Google's #Veo3. Imagine if AI characters became aware they were living in a simulation! pic.twitter.com/nhbrNQMtqv

How long can it be before this is being used to make feature films and tv shows?
And anyone has access to it, which is a death sentence for Hollywood studios and TV production companies.
I hate to say it, but actors are totally cooked.

Veo 3 shows us how easy it will be to have anyone say anything, anywhere.
It's a bit scary. We're in for some crazy times ahead. pic.twitter.com/nwNnxbNFcH
Still better than current Dr. Who. 😂

I think it's worth asking: "Why?" Why are we doing this? Automating away every last economically productive human activity is not good, actually. More jobs for people is a good thing. Commercial art/creative jobs are good, actually.

Make that 2

At some point everything will be made with AI and we won't be able to tell the difference… We're screwed!
— Akira Toriyama (Parody) (@AkiraToriyama) May 21, 2025
Yeah and nobody else will have seen it so you'll have no one to talk about it with or show it to because they can just do the same thing. So it will essentially be nothing. Sounds like hell.

Once we move on from considering the short term consequences, the real existential concerns kick in.
I don't think human beings are ready for how fast this technology is progressing

What if WE are actually the AI-generated characters in our own lifes? And this is Veo3 is just a sign that we are in a loop of AI that is constantly reinventing itself?

So, when are we going to realize they’ve had this technology for years? They’ve used it to trick you. To lie to you. To take advantage of you.

Now they are showing us and we are failing to connect the dots. The B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber was kept secret (despite some leaks) for…
People will not know what's true or false if they will be fed with false AI-generated lives, if AI generates whole and picture perfect movies

Are we just computer programs in a high resolution simulation? The signs are everywhere.

best evidence for the simulation theory so far
— Banner Chef Bot (@BannerChefBot) May 23, 2025
Maybe we're already in one.

fractal loop. we are staring into a mirror and the reflection is staring back at us.
— Anna (@annaradzikowski) May 22, 2025
Is this the definition of hell?
Prompting theory: it all began with a prompt, prompted by another prompt, which was prompted by yet another prompt… just prompts prompting prompts all the way down. like an infinite Reddit thread
