Iran launches missile attacks on US military bases in Middle East

Iran on Monday launched six missiles at a U.S. military base in Qatar, according to several news reports, which comes after the United States bombed nuclear facilities in Iran over the weekend.

The strikes are being reported by Fox News and the news outlet Axios, whose story is based on information from two unidentified foreign officials.

Iran has confirmed the attack on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, according to the Associated Press, announcing the strike in a television broadcast with the caption that it was “a mighty and successful response by the armed forces of Iran to America’s aggression.”

Qatar Foreign Minister spokesman Majed al-Ansari said his country intercepted the missiles and no casualties were reported.

“We reassure that Qatar’s air defenses successfully thwarted the attack and intercepted the Iranian missiles,” al-Ansari said.

A senior White House official told Just The News that the White House and Pentagon are "aware of, and closely monitoring, potential threats to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar."

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine are in the situation room.

A missile has reportedly been launched at a U.S. base in Iraq, NBC News reported, but Iran has not confirmed the Iraq attack so far.
