After fiery texts at Zelensky, Putin, Trump from White House says wants war to end 'quickly'

President Donald Trump said Thursday from the White House that he wants the war between Russia and Ukraine to end quickly.

"We want to end this war," said Trump, following a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. "We want to end it quickly."

When asked by a reporter why Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin to "STOP!" the deadly airstrikes, including one overnight, Trump said, "I was not happy with it. ...We're putting a lot of pressure on Russia."

A day earlier, Trump said Russia's war on Ukraine had become a "killing field" and appeared to blame Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky for rejecting a U.S.-brokered peace deal that purportedly included Ukraine allowing Russia to continue to keep the Crimea region.
