Comments emerged from women claiming that Browning had contacted them inappropriately.
Now, the party has not only removed Browning but also reported the former candidate to Police Scotland. "This individual was suspended from the Scottish Greens as soon as these allegations were known to us, with all local campaigning suspended. The Scottish Greens reported the situation to Police Scotland within 24 hours and will cooperate fully with any investigation," said a Scottish Greens Party spokesperson.
Browning, who formerly went by the name Evan, was set to stand for election later in May. In a post on the Clydebank Post Facebook page, however, comments emerged from women claiming that Browning had contacted them inappropriately.
"A number of women claimed that he had previously messaged them with sexually inappropriate comments, with screenshots provided as evidence. One of them claimed she was 13 when Browning wrote a sexually explicit message and told her he was 16," per the Scottish Daily Express.
Still another poster said that she had "blocked [Browning] so many times on various dating apps because they kept messaging me."
"On Wednesday, 30 April, 2025," said Police Scotland, "we received a report regarding concerns linked to online communications. Officers will speak to the reporter to gather more information."
When announcing the run for council, Browning announced plans to "fight for justice and equality," said the district needed "radical change," and advocated for Palestinian liberation.

Browning has also taken aim at popular novelist JK Rowling over her views on biological reality, namely, that it exists. "JK Rowling is a holocaust denier though," Browning wrote on X in April 2024. "specifically she denied that Transgender individuals were targeted by the Nazi party during the holocaust, and that the nazis burned books from the institute for sexual research about Trans people."

Browning has also insisted that trans double rapist Isla Bryson is a woman, though he committed the rapes with his male member. "Isla Bryson is a woman. an evil woman, but a woman nonetheless. that bigots like Fraser see acknowledging this as a defense of bryson shows clearly just how blinding bigotry is," Browning said.
