MAGA activist Charlie Kirk made a stop at Texas A&M University on Monday, April 22, drawing a massive student turnout for a full day of engagement and debate as part of his American Comeback Tour.

Kicking things off around noon on Tuesday, Kirk and his team hosted a “Prove Me Wrong” tabling event at Rudder Plaza. The setup ran until 3 pm, attracting  students who stopped by to watch, listen, and challenge the ideas being presented. The Battalion reports that there were several hundreds in attendance, with Kirk later confirming that there were over 2,800 at the Rudder Auditorium.

The event was part of a larger outreach strategy by Kirk and Turning Point USA aimed at sparking campus conversations. Each stop in the college campus series features Kirk taking on open debates with students around political and social issues, with the goal of promoting conservative ideas in often liberal-leaning academic environments.

Kirk said the goal behind the event is threefold: “Well, firstly, to inspire the conservatives on campus that you guys aren’t alone and that there’s a lot of you that share this opinion. No. 2, to see where we agree or disagree, and then third, just to find out who’s right. Because speech will get you towards some approximation of truth.”

The day wrapped up with Kirk speaking at Rudder Auditorium in the evening. The crowd size and enthusiasm appeared to exceed expectations, as he later posted on Twitter: “Over 2,800 Texas A&M patriots SHOWED UP tonight in College Station. Absolutely incredible energy!!”

Photos of the crowd show that the conservative movement is trending younger and younger. A recent poll confirms this, with the elder baby boomers being the ones most likely to be Trump averse. A poll from Real Clear reveals that the baby boomers, those over 70, are strongly opposed to Trump while those of younger generations have a more favorable view. 

Kirk can take a great deal of credit for aiding this new circumstnace. During the president campaign, he and his team at Turning Point Action worked hard to get out low propensity voters, including a great deal of young people. His campus tours have been widely attended and while they were protested by leftists at one point, those demonstrations have largely died down.
