Tyrese Haliburton led the Indiana Pacers to a victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, but Haliburton’s father overshadowed Tyrese’s efforts.
After Tyrese Haliburton hit the game-winning lay-up, his father, John Haliburton, quickly rushed onto the court and confronted Milwaukee Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
John Haliburton is seen in a video getting into the face of Giannis Antetokounmpo and having a heated exchange.
After the game, Giannis Antetokounmpo stated, “Not trying to minimize their effort. Coming on the floor and showing me his son’s towel with his face, saying ‘this is what we do. this is what we f’n do’… I feel that’s very – very disrespectful.”
The interaction between John Haliburton and Antetokounmpo led to a brief scuffle on the floor.

Here’s the reason why Giannis Antetokounmpo went after Tyrese Haliburton’s Dad.
Completely inexcusable behavior from a fan and father. Under no circumstances should this ever happen, yet alone in a first round matchup.

Per MSN:
Tyrese Haliburton came through when it counted with a last minute game-winning layup on Tuesday. The Pacers edged out the Bucks with a 119-118 win, punching their ticket to the next playoff series. However, it was the action after the game that has fans buzzing Wednesday morning.
The intensity spilled over after the buzzer. A shoving match involving Pacers and Bucks players started when Haliburton’s father, John, ran onto the court and got in the face of Buck’s star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Tyrese says he did not see what happened until watching the video in the locker room. However, afterwards Giannis and Tyrese talked about the exchange.
“I’ve won a championship, they haven’t. Not trying to minimize their effort. Coming on the floor and showing me his son’s towel with his face, saying ‘this is what we do. this is what we f’n do’… I feel that’s very – very disrespectful,” Giannis said.
After the game, Tyrese addressed the incident.
“I think it’s the emotions of the game, he just got excited there. I talked with him, eventually I’ll talk with Giannis. I don’t think my pops was right at all there,” Tyrese said.

Per The Guardian:
Early Wednesday morning, John Haliburton posted an apology to Giannis, the Bucks and the Pacers on his ‘X’ account.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has criticized Tyrese Haliburton’s father as the aftermath of Bucks-Pacers playoff series descended into a heated confrontation.
Haliburton sealed the Pacers’ 4-1 series victory with a lay-up in overtime that gave them a 119-118 victory on Tuesday night. In the ensuing celebrations, Antetokounmpo says Haliburton’s father, John, approached him and waved a towel while shouting “this is what we fucking do.”
“I believe in being humble in victory,” Antetokounmpo said after the game. “A lot of people out there that are like, no, when you win the game, you talk shit and it’s a green light for you to be disrespectful towards somebody else. I disagree.”
Haliburton was unhappy with his father too.
“I don’t agree with what transpired there from him,” Haliburton said. “Basketball is basketball and let’s keep it on the court. I think he just got excited, saw his son make a game winner and came on the court, but we had a conversation.
